Preventing Traveler's Diarrhea among Tourism Professionals in Buleleng University General

The occurrence of Traveler's Diarrhea in Bali, also known as "Bali Belly," has resurfaced in digital news and social media, demanding serious attention as tourism in Bali begins to thrive again.

In response, the Travel Medicine Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha, conducted a Community Service activity with the theme "Preventing Traveler's Diarrhea among Tourism Professionals in Buleleng."

The activity took place at The Lovina Hotel, Kalibukbuk, Buleleng, on April 14, 2023, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

The participants included tourism professionals, particularly hotel and restaurant employees serving as food handlers, ranging from the Food Product division to the Food Service division in Buleleng.

The activity consisted of an educational session on Traveler's Diarrhea, followed by training on proper handwashing techniques and a complete Fecal Examination for food handler employees.

The speakers for this event were Dr. dr. Made Agus Hendrayana, M.Ked., from the Travel Medicine Unit of Udayana University, Dr. dr. Made Kurnia Widiastuti Giri, M.Kes., and Luh Mertasari, S.ST, M.Pd., from Undiksha Faculty of Medicine.

The activity was also attended by the Travel Medicine Unit team from Udayana University and the Tourism Health team from Faculty of Medicine, Undiksha.
